"He was a caged animal, a spoiled child, an uncontrollable monster and yet, at times, as soft and caring as a person could be. Kind, gregarious, and cruel."
So said guitarist Tommy Emmanuel of legendary Dragon rock band frontman and lead singer Marc Hunter who died so tragically of cancer in 1998.
Now with the release of the first ever warts-and-all biography of Hunter – one of the true wild men of Australian rock, News Limited gives you the opportunity to access an exclusive free download of Dragon's songs.
The band, led by Hunter's brother Todd, took to the studio only this month to record a new version of their 1989 smash hit 'Young Years' for this download.
To get your free download of 'Young Years 2011' and a free download of Dragon's new single '21 (Heart of Gold)', subscribe to the band's mailing list at the end of this story and you will be sent a link to the download.

The songs capture at their best a band now entering its 40th year that holds such a special place in the history of Australian music.
It also coincides with a new Australian tour by the ARIA Hall of Fame members.
But perhaps more importantly it coincides with the release of Chasing the Dragon: author Jeff Apter's inside story of the life and death of Marc Hunter.
A maverick, a man described as a self-destructive genius, who battled heroin addiction, endured turbulent relationships with his band members but whose fast living saw his candle burn out so young at just 44.
