In their continued attempts to be the most generous band on the face of this Earth, Radiohead have decided that a recent concert film shot last January would make a nice gift for their fans if it was offered as a free download. Oh, and the concert in question was a charity show to benefit the victims of the earthquake in Haiti. Oh, and although they're not accepting any money for the download, the guys in Radiohead are encouraging fans to make a donation to Oxfam to compensate for the whole "not paying" thing.

Well isn't that nice. . .

Fans will be especially happy to see this show, as it was fairly exclusive, with just about 1,400 people in attendance. The setlist is a perfect greatest hits collection (although "Creep," perhaps thankfully, isn't on there) with new tracks ("Weird Fishes/Arpeggi") mingling with old favorites ("Paranoid Android").

The final product was the result of the efforts of 14 people taping the show on video and four others recording the audio.

Ok, so between the "pay whatever you want" deal of In Rainbows a couple of years ago and this "just give it to charity" strategy here, maybe Radiohead doesn't have the strongest business plan in the world, but we all know that's really something to be admired. There are plenty of talented musical artists out there today but it's no secret that more than a few pop stars are still dominated by their label and, therefore, by commercial interests.

Little acts like this one prove once again that Radiohead is the real deal. They consistently create some of the most interesting and innovative popular music you're likely to hear today and they don't seem to be in it for the money. That's rare. While the Taylor Swifts of the world are tweeting their thanks when fans gobble up their new albums and bring in huge profits for the label, the Radioheads of the world–and there aren't all that many, sadly–are encouraging fans to put the money to better use.

Oh, and their songs are pretty good, too.
